Position Overview

In the role of Functional Assessor, your primary responsibility will be to evaluate individuals and the impact of their disabilities or conditions on their employment capabilities. Utilizing your clinical knowledge, you will attentively gather each person's medical history and conduct thorough physical examinations. Subsequently, you will create clear and precise reports for the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) to assist in determining each individual's eligibility for benefits.

This position entails engaging with individuals both in person and through virtual platforms. Regardless of the mode of communication, you will approach each interaction with sensitivity and compassion, asking the appropriate questions while adhering to best practice standards.

You can be assured that you will have ample time to conduct accurate assessments and provide each individual with your full attention. Although you will operate independently, you will be part of a broader multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that support is always available.

Candidate Profile

An HCPC Registered Paramedic with a minimum of 12 months' post-registration experience within the last five years. Experience working with adults in various clinical environments. Evidence of Continuous Professional Development on your CV. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment. Proficient IT skills and experience with various software applications. Self-aware and focused on ongoing professional growth. Honest, maintaining integrity and confidentiality in customer interactions. Driven to deliver high-quality customer service, demonstrating empathy, respect, and sensitivity in assessments. Capable of working independently to meet deadlines and standards. Prepared to function as a dependable and effective team member, supporting the multi-disciplinary team.
