Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Psychological Therapies team, focusing on our Recovery community services and acute care initiatives.

This role is ideal for a committed professional with a passion for supporting individuals facing significant mental health challenges. The position is available as a fixed-term contract or secondment for a duration of 12 months.

Whether you are an established clinical psychologist at Band 8a or a Band 7 psychologist looking for growth, this opportunity offers valuable experience and mentorship for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and provide both short-term and long-term therapeutic interventions.
  • Offer expert advice, consultation, and training to multidisciplinary team members.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary framework to enhance service delivery.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks based on clinical requirements.
  • Engage with colleagues and external professionals to ensure cohesive care for clients.

Our Psychological Therapies Service operates across various community, acute, and inpatient settings, supported by a diverse team of clinical psychologists, arts psychotherapists, CBT therapists, and family therapists.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology or equivalent, with HCPC registration.
  • Advanced assessment and intervention capabilities.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Desirable:

  • Additional specialist therapy qualifications.

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in recovery and inpatient settings.
  • Proven track record of working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in clinical supervision and consultation with trainees and other professionals.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing complex cases and risk.
  • Ability to apply systemic and organizational thinking in practice.
