About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team as a Functional Assessor, working with the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to assess individuals and their disabilities or conditions that affect their work life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical assessments of individuals, taking into account their medical history and performing physical examinations as necessary.
  • Produce accurate and concise reports for the DWP, detailing the individual's work capability and any relevant medical information.
  • Meet with individuals face-to-face and via telephone/video, demonstrating sensitivity, compassion, and excellent communication skills.
  • Work independently, but as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team, with access to support and resources as needed.
Requirements
  • HCPC Registered Paramedic with a minimum of 12 months' post-registration experience within the past five years.
  • Experience of working with adults in a range of clinical situations.
  • Continuous Professional Development present on your CV.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and respond to a rapidly changing environment.
  • IT skills and experience of using a range of software.
  • Self-aware and focused on professional development.
  • Honest and able to maintain integrity and customer confidentiality.
  • Motivated to contribute to quality customer service, demonstrating empathy, respect, and sensitivity in assessment delivery.
  • Able to work on your own initiative to meet deadlines and standards.
  • Ready to work as a reliable and efficient team member and willing to support the multi-disciplinary team.
