About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor in Medical Oncology to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Division of Specialised Services, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our acute oncology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide continuity of patient care for patients being treated on the Oncology Day Unit, including supervision of patients admitted to medical wards with chemotherapy-related side effects and other cancer-related problems.
  • Work closely with ward-based medical staff to ensure seamless care and support for patients.
  • Participate in oncology clinics with consultants, including clinics to support the recruitment, follow-up, and management of patients participating in clinical trials.
  • Assess and manage patients with cancer or suspected cancer, including those requiring urgent care.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MCRS/FRCS/MBBS (or equivalent)
  • Fully registered with GMC with licence to practice
  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Practice
  • At least 4 years full-time post-graduate training (or its equivalent on a part-time basis), at least 2 of which should be in a training post in a relevant specialty
