The Role: Workshop Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced and driven Workshop Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy service department. Reporting directly to the Aftersales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining high standards of quality, and driving profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of qualified technicians and apprentices.
  • Effectively allocate work orders, manage technician schedules, and oversee timekeeping procedures.
  • Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure adherence to brand standards for completed repairs and services.
  • Maximize service profitability by optimizing technician efficiency and promoting upselling opportunities.
  • Maintain and update workshop management systems, including electronic vehicle history (eVHC) software and service booking databases.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to service customers through both face-to-face interactions and phone communication.
  • Collaborate closely with the Service Advisor team to ensure seamless customer experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess proven experience as a Workshop Controller, preferably within a franchised dealership environment. You should have intermediate IT skills, including proficiency in eVHC software administration. We are seeking an individual who demonstrates strong leadership qualities, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to effectively solve problems and anticipate potential challenges.
