We are a prestigious hotel seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Our hotel, The Elvetham, is committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a talented and ambitious Junior Sous Chef to support our Sous Chef and Head Chef in maintaining the high standards of our menu and ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality of food and presentation.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes, adhering to our hotel's fine dining standards.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards, complying with relevant regulations.
- Assist in menu development and creation of daily specials, showcasing our culinary expertise.
- Help train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Work efficiently under pressure, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Manage kitchen inventory and ordering of supplies, ensuring seamless operations.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a high-end restaurant or hotel.
- A passion for food and a desire to develop culinary skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation.
- A solid understanding of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- A team player with a positive and can-do attitude, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A competitive salary of £33,000 per annum.
- A permanent, full-time contract with 40 hours per week, including weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota.
