Key Responsibilities
Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivational midwife to join our team.
Midwives are empowered to deliver care in optimal settings, ensuring that all women (and their families) can experience a normal birth process. Candidates should possess substantial midwifery experience, capable of providing comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, with the flexibility to work nights and weekends.
You will deliver a full spectrum of health education, social support, and guidance to women, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance maternity care for childbearing women and their families, while being responsive to their needs and gathering user feedback as necessary. You will also mentor student midwives and junior staff, receiving excellent support from senior midwives to help you reach your full potential. We believe that satisfied and fulfilled staff will provide the best care, and we strive to achieve this through a supportive team environment.
Successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive orientation program and will be assured of receiving appropriate support.
This position requires shift work, including night shifts. For community roles, access to a vehicle is advantageous.
About Our Organization
Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a growing population of approximately 700,000 individuals across Bedfordshire and surrounding areas through two busy hospital sites. Both locations provide essential services, including A&E, Obstetrics-led Maternity, and Paediatrics. You will be joining a friendly, high-performing Trust committed to the health and wellbeing of its staff. As one of the largest NHS Trusts in the region, you will have access to a high-quality training and development program to support your career growth. The Trust is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care using the best clinical knowledge and technology available.
Our Core Values
We prioritize recruiting individuals who embody the behaviors that reflect our Trust's core values, in addition to qualifications and experience. Our recruitment practices are designed to be as inclusive as possible, promoting equality and diversity while fostering a culture that values differences.
Please be aware that vacancies may close before the advertised closing date if a sufficient number of applications are received.
