Job Title - International Revenue Accountant - 7 Months FTC

Location - Hybrid/Crawley (2-3 days a week on-site)

Candidate Profile - The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in revenue accounting, with a solid understanding of IFRS 15 and revenue recognition principles. The role involves not only recording revenue but also engaging in process documentation, making experience in process mapping highly beneficial. We seek a proactive accounting professional who can adapt quickly and demonstrates strong commercial insight. Excellent communication skills are essential, particularly for candidates with backgrounds in Shared Services or large, multi-subsidiary global organizations.

Role Details - This hybrid position necessitates on-site presence in Crawley for 2-3 days per week. The client prefers candidates residing within a reasonable commuting distance. The role generally adheres to standard office hours, though flexibility may be required during month-end activities to ensure effective collaboration with the US team. This is a 7-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension, though this cannot be guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities -

  • The International Revenue Accountant will ensure accurate revenue recording in line with IFRS standards, particularly for intricate agreements. This includes the review of customer purchase orders, statements of work, master purchasing agreements, and terms and conditions.
  • The primary focus will be on supporting US revenue accounting, while also maintaining the flexibility to engage in global revenue recognition tasks.
  • Assisting in the documentation of existing processes and controls.
  • Monthly duties will encompass journal entry preparation for revenue and transfer costs, as well as account reconciliations.
  • Uploading financial data to the corporate consolidation system and conducting management reporting utilizing advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Additional responsibilities include maintaining revenue amortization schedules, conducting purchase price variance analysis, and provision analysis.
  • Collaboration with FP&A, auditors, accounting, tax, supply chain, order entry, commercial operations, and other business experts globally is essential.
  • Project management experience, along with analytical and investigative skills, is required.
  • Some flexibility in working hours may be necessary to support colleagues based in the US.

Qualifications -

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting.
  • Background in services, manufacturing, and intercompany accounting.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition regulations (IFRS 15) for multi-element arrangements.
  • Experience in process mapping and enhancement.
  • Proficiency with JDE E1 ERP/Accounting, Apttus, Cognos, or similar reporting tools, and Salesforce or comparable CRM systems is desirable.
  • Experience in a process-oriented environment such as shared services or outsourcing.
  • Strong Excel skills and effective presentation abilities (both oral and written).
  • Experience in process management and familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Quick learner, able to grasp complex transactions, agreements, systems, and files.
  • Team player with the ability to thrive in a large team environment and meet tight deadlines.
