Job Summary:

The Credit Control Assistant will be responsible for evaluating and assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through analysis, credit checking, and payment history review. This role involves working with the Accounts Receivable team to create new customer records, set appropriate credit limits, and maintain accurate customer data and records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through analysis, credit checking, and payment history review.
  • Work with the Accounts Receivable team to create new customer records and set appropriate credit limits.
  • Maintain accurate customer data and records, including daily receipt postings and reconciliation of sales ledger.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and resolve any payment delays or discrepancies.
  • Engage with customers to establish payment plans and resolve billing queries or disputes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, providing excellent customer service and addressing any queries or concerns.
  • Review regular aged creditors/payment runs to identify and carry out contras to maximise cash position.
  • Maintain payment data for weekly customer cash forecast purposes.
  • Run reports as required and work with other AR colleagues and the wider business to provide a professional and helpful service.
  • Promptly escalate issues and share significant information with relevant departments and individuals.
  • Attend weekly aged debt and team meetings.
  • Make recommendations for system improvements to support better and more efficient processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working within accounts/finance administration.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
  • Attention to detail is critical and working to deadlines daily.
  • Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • MS packages to include, Word, Excel, and Outlook and Sage or equivalent.
