Job Summary:

The Credit Control Assistant will work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers. This role involves analyzing credit reports, creating new customer records, and setting credit limits based on risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through analysis and credit checking.
  • Create new customer records within company systems and maintain accurate customer data.
  • Assist in setting appropriate credit limits for customers based on risk assessment and expected volumes.
  • Accurately reconcile sales ledger to include daily receipt postings and monitor customer accounts for timely payments.
  • Engage with customers to establish payment plans and resolve billing queries or disputes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and provide excellent customer service.
  • Review regular aged creditors/payment runs to identify and carry out contras to maximize cash position.
  • Maintain payment data for weekly customer cash forecast purposes and run reports as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other AR colleagues and the wider business to provide a professional and helpful service.
  • Promptly escalate issues and share significant information with relevant departments and individuals.
  • Attend weekly aged debt and team meetings and make recommendations for system improvements.

Requirements:

  • Experience working within accounts/finance administration.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and excellent organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail is critical and working to deadlines daily.
  • Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Proficiency in MS packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Sage or equivalent.
