About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Credit Control Specialist to join our team at Gregory Distribution. As a key member of our Accounts Receivable team, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through analysis, credit checking, and payment history review.
  • Create new customer records within our company systems.
  • Assist with setting appropriate credit limits for customers based on risk assessment and expected volumes, and maintain accurate customer data and records.
  • Accurately reconcile sales ledger to include daily receipt postings.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments, and address any payment delays or discrepancies promptly.
  • Engage with customers to establish payment plans and ensure adherence to payment terms, and assist with resolving any billing queries or disputes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, providing excellent customer service and addressing any queries or concerns relating to credit matters.
  • Review regular aged creditors/payment runs to identify and carry out contras in an attempt to maximize cash position.
  • Maintain payment data for weekly customer cash forecast purposes.
  • Run reports as and when required.
  • Work as a team with other AR colleagues and the wider business to provide a professional and helpful service to all customers and colleagues.
  • Promptly escalate issues, ensuring significant information is shared regularly and with relevant departments and individuals.
  • Attend weekly aged debt and team meetings.
  • Make recommendations for system improvements that would support better and more efficient processes.
Requirements
  • Experience of working within accounts/finance administration.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills and prioritizing workload.
  • Attention to detail is critical and working to deadlines daily.
  • Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • MS packages to include, Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Sage or equivalent.
