Job Summary:

The Gregory Group is seeking a highly skilled Credit Control Specialist to join our team. As a Credit Control Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing customers, creating new customer records, and assisting with setting appropriate credit limits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through analysis, credit checking, and payment history review.
  • Create new customer records within company systems.
  • Assist with setting appropriate credit limits for customers based on risk assessment and expected volumes.
  • Maintain accurate customer data and records.
  • Reconcile sales ledger to include daily receipt postings.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and address any payment delays or discrepancies.
  • Engage with customers to establish payment plans and resolve billing queries or disputes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and provide excellent customer service.
  • Review regular aged creditors/payment runs to identify and carry out contras to maximise cash position.
  • Maintain payment data for weekly customer cash forecast purposes.
  • Run reports as required.
  • Work collaboratively with other AR colleagues and the wider business to provide a professional and helpful service.
  • Promptly escalate issues and share significant information with relevant departments and individuals.
  • Attend weekly aged debt and team meetings.
  • Make recommendations for system improvements to support better and more efficient processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience working within accounts/finance administration.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
  • Attention to detail is critical and working to deadlines daily.
  • Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Proficiency in MS packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Sage or equivalent.
