Job Title: Renal Transplant Surgeon

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Renal Transplant Surgeon to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Renal Surgical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality surgical care to patients undergoing renal transplantation and vascular access procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the management and administration of the clinical service, ensuring seamless delivery of care to patients.
  • Contribute to the development of the renal surgical services, driving innovation and excellence in patient care.
  • Take an active part in clinical work, including in-patient care, out-patient clinics, and theatre sessions.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and provide guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
  • Engage in teaching and training activities for junior doctors and medical students, promoting knowledge and skills in renal transplantation and vascular access surgery.
  • Contribute to clinical governance activities within the department and the trust, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
Requirements:
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council or eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date.
  • Currently on the Specialist Register for General Surgery or eligibility for inclusion within 6 months of the interview date.
  • Higher professional qualification (e.g., MRCS).
  • Experience in vascular access and renal transplant surgery, with a strong understanding of transplant and vascular access techniques.
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
  • Experience in leading clinical audits, implementing change, and monitoring compliance.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels and disciplines.
