Job Summary

The London North West Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Vascular Scientist to join our team. As a Clinical Vascular Scientist, you will play a crucial role in providing expert care to patients with vascular conditions.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical expertise in the assessment and management of patients with vascular conditions
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Conducting research and audits to improve patient outcomes and services
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff members
  • Contributing to the development of clinical guidelines and policies

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant clinical experience
  • 2 years of experience at Band 6 level in respiratory, covering colorectal surgery, chronic disease management, and ITU
  • Experience of supervising junior physiotherapy staff
  • Experience of teaching students and peers
  • Experience of audit/research process

Desirable Criteria

The following skills and experience would be advantageous:

  • Previous prehabilitation experience
  • Previous experience at Band 7 level
  • Previous management of patients following colorectal surgery

Essential Skills

The successful candidate will need to possess:

  • Competent IT skills
  • Ability to organise, prioritise, and delegate
  • Ability to appraise and develop team members through the IPR process
  • Effective communication skills

Desirable Skills

The following skills and experience would be beneficial:

  • Experience with data collection
  • Involvement in pre-habilitation of surgical patients
  • Involvement in research/audit
  • Ability to lead a small team in difficult situations
