We are in search of a Lead Clinical Vascular Specialist to enhance our team of dedicated professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct, analyze, and document ultrasound examinations and additional assessments for vascular disorders, operating independently at a senior capacity while offering clinical guidance to fellow vascular specialists as necessary.
  • Manage the daily functions of the vascular service, ensuring seamless operations across various departments.
  • Guarantee adequate staffing levels at each location to meet service demands, while ensuring that vascular specialists receive the necessary support to fulfill their responsibilities.
  • Assign specific tasks in the daily management of the department and designate particular duties to vascular specialists, holding them accountable for their execution.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Criteria

  • A relevant degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Professional expertise through a master's degree or equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

Desirable Criteria

  • Additional postgraduate qualifications.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Participation in relevant supervisory training programs.

Experience Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum of three years' experience in the field.
  • Proven experience in staff management.
  • Familiarity with research and development initiatives within the profession.

Desirable

  • Experience in developing and implementing service enhancements.
  • Knowledge of the Improving Quality in Physiological Services (IQIPS) framework.
  • Experience in conducting audits.

Skills and Competencies

Essential

  • Proficient in independently performing and interpreting various ultrasound modalities, including carotid, arterial, and venous assessments.
  • A proven ability to effectively coordinate staff and resources.
  • Competent in using computer systems.

Desirable

  • Completion of a 'Train the Trainer' course or experience in mentoring students.
  • Proficiency in conducting specialized vascular ultrasound investigations.
