Team Jobs - Strategic Accounts is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to collaborate with our esteemed client.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a driven engineer with a background in the aerospace sector.

You will be tasked with the design, development, and evaluation of various mechanical components, systems, and machinery.

A solid understanding of engineering principles is essential for designing products such as engines, instruments, controls, and robots. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field is expected, along with the ability to work under guidance to fulfill job responsibilities.

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with potential flexibility to condense hours into a four-day workweek.

Compensation is hourly, based on experience.

Our client can provide one month of accommodation support, if necessary, up to £400 per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Addressing REACH obsolescence within our existing product line, identifying issues, and exploring suitable alternatives based on product specifications. Supporting the development of design concepts, including analysis, while maintaining an awareness of manufacturing methodologies and cost considerations. Engaging in detailed design work and processing engineering modifications. Overseeing all drawings and related project documentation. Contributing to complex aerospace engineering projects across various scopes.

Essential Skills:

- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to review existing drawings for obsolescence and produce investigation reports.

- Capability to create detailed designs and layouts that meet customer specifications.

- Responsibility for the completion and verification of drawing packages and supporting documentation.

- Commitment to delivering on project timelines and achieving milestones while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.

- Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment and expand beyond your comfort zone.

- Experience in small component design, manufacturing principles, and precision components is advantageous.

Candidates must possess the right to live and work in the UK and successfully pass all necessary background and security checks.
