Job Title: Lead Mechanical Engineer - Propulsion Systems

Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the engineering design of systems and components for advanced naval submarines Execute functional design tasks, including modeling and analytical assessments Generate comprehensive design documentation, including Verification & Validation records and safety assessments Assist in the specification, qualification, and procurement of essential components, collaborating closely with suppliers Participate in peer reviews and validation processes to uphold engineering standards Required Skills and Qualifications: Proficient in the design and specification of rotating machinery, including gears, shafts, bearings, and couplings (experience with electrical machinery is a plus) OR Expertise in fluid systems design, covering both compressible and incompressible fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, pumps, and control valves Knowledgeable in pressure vessel design, including pressure piping and vessels compliant with international standards (e.g., ASME BPVC, PD 5500, EN 13445) Understanding of the engineering lifecycle from conceptual design through to operation and decommissioning Chartered engineer status or actively pursuing professional accreditation Employee Benefits:

About the Propulsion Team:

As a member of the Propulsion team, you will engage in the design and development of propulsion systems across all major components while also specifying and supporting the procurement of propulsion equipment.
