Senior Risk Management Executive

We are seeking a Senior Risk Management Executive to lead our risk and compliance initiatives within a prominent UK Commercial Banking institution. This role is pivotal in shaping the risk management framework and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a member of the Executive Management Team, overseeing all aspects of risk and compliance policies, systems, and controls.
- Act as the registered Senior Management Function (SMF 4), managing a senior control team that includes the Head of Risk, Head of Compliance (SMF 16), and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (SMF 17).
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across various domains, including regulatory, operational, market, credit, and cyber security risks.
- Establish and implement procedures to ensure comprehensive risk identification, monitoring, and management.
- Review and report on the effectiveness of the enterprise risk framework to the Board, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Prepare an annual risk management report detailing the risk landscape and the institution's risk tolerance levels.
- Represent the organization in discussions with regulators, auditors, and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience as a Chief Risk Officer or a senior risk management professional within a similar commercial banking environment.
- A thorough understanding of UK prudential regulations and the second line of defense (2LOD) principles.
- Proven expertise in risk controls, policies, and procedures specific to the banking sector.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide senior members of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team.
