Position Overview

Senior Risk Management Executive

ETRA Talent is seeking candidates who are interested in advancing to a senior leadership role in risk management.

Role Summary

The Senior Risk Management Executive is accountable for the formulation and execution of the Board-sanctioned Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF). This encompasses the supervision, evaluation, and reporting of Credit Risk, Market and Liquidity Risk, Operational Risk, Information Security, and Data Protection.

Key Duties:

  • Risk Management Strategy: Formulate and execute a holistic strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and risk appetite.
  • Risk Evaluations: Identify and evaluate potential risks throughout the organization utilizing Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).
  • Mitigation Approaches: Collaborate with various departments to establish risk tolerance levels and devise mitigation approaches.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee risk data analysis, provide insights, and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Develop annual ICAAP and ILAAP documents, manage stress-testing, and uphold the business continuity plan.
  • Climate Change Strategy: Create and integrate the organization's Climate Change Risk framework.

Committee Participation

  • Chair: Risk Committee, Operational Risk Sub-Committee, IFRS9 Steering Committee, Business Continuity Working Group (interim)
  • Member: Management Committee, ALCO, Product Governance Committee, Information Security Sub-Committee, Recovery Management Action Committee
  • Representative: Group Special Assets Committee

Regulatory Duties

  • Oversee credit exposures, non-performing loans, and provisioning requirements.
  • Manage internal stress-testing and report to regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor and address fraud reporting and data protection.

Delegated Responsibilities from CEO

  • Ensure no reputational risk to the organization.
  • Uphold high ethical standards and corporate governance.

Risk Culture & Training

  • Promote a risk-aware culture.
  • Integrate Risk Management into onboarding and development processes.

Senior Manager Conduct Rules

  • Ensure effective business control, compliance, proper delegation, and regulatory transparency.

Individual Conduct Rules

  • Act with integrity, due skill, care, diligence, and fairness to clients.
  • Ensure market conduct and deliver positive outcomes for retail clients.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • Desirable: Postgraduate degree and relevant professional certifications (e.g., IRM).

Experience Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior risk management position within the financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication abilities.
