Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Nurse Leader to join our team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 6 Quality Nurse Manager, you will play a key role in leading and developing our Ophthalmic Outpatients department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Ophthalmic Outpatients department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services.
    • Develop and implement effective plans to improve patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Patient Care
    • Provide direct patient care, demonstrating specialist knowledge and expertise in ophthalmic nursing.
    • Act as a role model and resource for the clinical team, promoting excellence in patient care and nursing practice.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with other Senior Nurses, Department Managers, and the Assistant Director of Nursing to implement Directorate/Divisional service plans.
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Quality and Safety
    • Ensure that patient care is delivered in accordance with the NMC code of Professional conduct and Trust policies and procedures.
    • Monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of patient care, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
Person Specification
  • Qualifications
    • Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC Register.
  • Experience
    • Extensive post-registration experience, including significant experience within a relevant speciality at Band 6 or equivalent.
  • Skills
    • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Attitude and Aptitude
    • Effective role model, demonstrating the Trust's values of People-focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, and Excellence.
