Job Overview

Position: Assistant Company Secretary

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 DOE

A prominent insurance organization is seeking an Assistant Company Secretary to enhance their in-house legal department on a permanent basis.

This position will involve collaborating closely with the General Counsel & Company Secretary on various corporate governance responsibilities. Over time, the Assistant Company Secretary will have the opportunity to advance into the Company Secretary role, making this an excellent opportunity for a professional aiming to elevate their career.

The successful candidate will be expected to work from the London office twice a week, in addition to attending monthly board meetings.

The ideal applicant will possess experience in supporting Company Secretary or Corporate Office administrative functions and should hold ICSA qualifications (either partial or full). While experience in the insurance or financial services sector is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite.

As an Assistant Company Secretary, your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing meeting documentation, including agendas and action logs
  • Compiling Board and Committee materials and ensuring quality assurance
  • Taking accurate minutes during Board and Committee meetings
  • Handling Companies House and other statutory filings along with related administrative duties
  • Regularly liaising with the leadership team across the organization in the UK and internationally
