About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Director to lead all aspects of the Facilities Management business. Reporting directly to Ben Todd, our Managing Director, you will own the management of the Account Management team (x5 direct reports), ensuring we build strategic partnerships with our facilities management customers by offering a market-leading service proposition.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement the business development strategy for 2nd tier Facilities Management contractors and National Facilities Management contractors.
  2. Lead, coach, and develop our excellent team of Account Managers, ensuring we're going above and beyond for our customers.
  3. Use data and personal market experience to drive a winning sales culture, developing and implementing sales strategies to meet and exceed our strategic priorities.
  4. Ensure we're delivering against our agreed terms of business and that all processes are flowing smoothly as our customers would expect.
  5. Build and maintain strong working relationships with our largest customers by attending industry events and providing thought leadership on key strategic topics.
  6. Continually evaluate the existing and target customers to deliver profitable growth and deliver against our commercial goals.
  7. Ensure the credibility and technical expertise of the Account Managers to ensure we are the trusted partner for Facilities Management Providers.
  8. Work seamlessly with all of the Managed Services team, as well as the wider Travis Perkins business to demonstrate a united front to the customer on our service ambition.
  9. Successfully manage the procurement processes and secure long-term contractual agreements with both private and public sector organisations.
What We're Looking For

If you have experience leading a high-performing team that delivers similar services into the Facilities Management sector, then we would love to hear from you. You may be in a similar role working for a similar service provider or supplier looking for a new opportunity with a growing business. By 2025, this role will be overseeing a £65m t/o, and it's therefore important that you have a strong commercial understanding, as well as the ability to problem-solve and add value to our customers by offering strong solutions.
