Lead Nurse for Acute Medical Ward

Job Overview
An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a dedicated nursing leader to take on the role of Lead Nurse for the C3 Acute Medical Ward. This permanent position is designed for a job share Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
We are looking for a proactive and self-driven individual whose enthusiasm will help advance the care provided to our acute medical patients. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and possess a natural ability to manage shifting priorities to fulfill both clinical and operational demands.
Main Responsibilities
The Lead Nurse will have key responsibilities, including:
- 24-hour accountability for the ward, including overseeing staff management and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care through established systems and processes.
- Contributing to the enhancement of patient care practices within the Directorate and participating in Trust initiatives as needed, while ensuring that staff have opportunities for professional development.
- Providing appropriate supervision and support to junior staff and students, ensuring they are effectively assessed.
- Coordinating the daily operations of the ward in collaboration with the broader medical team, bed management, and allied health professionals.
