Position Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Band 5 Nurse specializing in Critical Care (ICU/HDU) at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.
We are seeking enthusiastic and driven nurses who are eager to enhance their skills in a critical care environment. Our facilities offer a total of 21 beds across two hospital sites, providing a diverse range of experiences.
Critical Care Facilities
Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) comprises 13 beds, catering to patients with medical, surgical, renal, and obstetric emergencies requiring level 2 and level 3 care. Meanwhile, the High Dependency Unit (HDU) accommodates 8 beds for elective surgical patients needing level 2 post-operative care, as well as medical emergencies.
We invite applications from highly motivated individuals with a passion for caring for critically ill patients. Newly qualified nurses will have the opportunity to participate in our Intensive Care Foundation Programme, with the potential to pursue an academic qualification in Intensive Care upon successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care for critically ill patients.
- Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Deliver holistic care of the highest standard to patients and their families.
- Engage with other departments to enhance patient care.
- Act as a resource for colleagues, patients, and their families.
- Contribute proactively to the development of nursing services.
- Be prepared to work across both hospital sites as required, ensuring safe patient care.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
- Current or pending NMC registration.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
