Senior Intensive Care Nurse

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Staff Nurse/Charge Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading and mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the development of our critical care services.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide expert hands-on care for critically ill patients and their families, acting as an exemplary senior clinical role model.
- Assess, plan, organize, and coordinate care for Intensive Care and High Dependency patients.
- Lead and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Deputize for the Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse, taking charge of the unit as necessary, and ensuring judicious use of resources and bed allocation.
- Contribute to the development of our critical care services, working in association with the Band 7 to define standards of care and practice.
- Act as an effective role model and assist in the professional leadership of an identified group of staff, ensuring that practice, education, research, and evidence-based practice are strengthened.

Requirements:- NMC Level One Registration
- Specialist Level 3 Critical Care Course
- Degree in Nursing or currently working towards
- Recent Critical Care Experience, post completion of Critical Care Course
- Evidence of Quality Improvement Projects undertaken in clinical area
- Evidence of on-going professional development
- Development of enhanced Clinical Skills
- Good communication, teamworking, and management skills
