Position Overview

We are pleased to announce a vacancy for a Band 5 Children's Emergency Care Nurse within our dedicated Emergency Departments.

Our department operates around the clock, delivering urgent care to children facing acute physical and mental health challenges, alongside managing complex and chronic conditions.

The team comprises skilled paediatric advanced care practitioners, supported by the Trust's Paediatric Nursing and Medical Teams, as well as our Emergency Department staff. We offer numerous opportunities for professional growth, including access to comprehensive paediatric simulation training.

Our paediatric services encompass an acute care ward, medical day units, and outpatient services. We also provide a Level 1 Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Service and a dedicated psychiatric liaison service for children. With over 25 specialist paediatric nurses, two community children's nurses, and a safeguarding team, there are ample opportunities to enhance your expertise across various domains, complementing your emergency nursing capabilities.

The Paediatric Emergency Department has recently appointed a dedicated Practice Educator, focused solely on supporting both new and existing nurses in acquiring essential skills for this specialized environment.
