An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a dedicated nursing leadership position as a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to oversee the Frailty Hub.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven leader who is passionate about advancing the acute assessment hub for frail patients. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and possess a natural ability to manage shifting priorities to address both clinical and operational demands.
The Frailty Hub at St Helier Hospital focuses on early identification of frailty upon patient arrival, initiating comprehensive assessments and management strategies to ensure older individuals receive appropriate services and timely discharges. This collaborative service is developed jointly between Acute Medicine and Emergency Medicine, promoting a unified team approach to enhance the quality and efficiency of care.
Main Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse include:
- Maintaining 24-hour accountability, including overseeing the assessment area and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care with established systems and processes for safe and effective patient care.
- Supporting and contributing to the enhancement of patient care practices within the Directorate, participating in Trust projects as necessary, and facilitating staff development opportunities.
- Providing appropriate supervision and support to junior staff and students, ensuring they are adequately assessed.
- Coordinating the daily operations of the ward in collaboration with the broader medical team, bed manager, and allied health professionals.

- Mentorship or equivalent qualification
- Nursing-related Degree or Diploma
Previous Experience
