About the Role

The Primary Care Careers team is seeking a skilled and compassionate Receptionist to join our front-of-house team. As a Receptionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical centre, providing exceptional patient care and support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct patients, providing a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Manage appointment bookings, ensuring efficient scheduling and minimal wait times.
  • Process prescriptions, letters, and other documents, maintaining accurate records and confidentiality.
  • Handle patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
  • Support the on-duty team, providing backup and assistance as needed.
  • Answer phone calls, responding promptly and professionally.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner.
  • Ability to work in a confidential and discreet manner, respecting patient confidentiality.
  • Experience working with the general public, being sensitive and empathetic in challenging situations.
  • Confidence to work as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong IT and administration skills, with proficiency in medical software and systems.
