About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Repairs and Contracts Manager to join our Homeownership Services team at Southwark Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a small team of repairs and contracts officers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the repairs and contracts officers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver excellent service.
  • Service Delivery: Oversee the delivery of repairs and maintenance services to our residents, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Contract Management: Manage and maintain contracts with external providers, ensuring that they meet the needs of our residents and are delivered within budget.
  • Team Development: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication and continuous learning and development.
  • Customer Focus: Ensure that all services are delivered with a customer-centric approach, responding to resident needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading and managing teams, with a track record of delivering high-quality services.
  • Contract Management: Strong understanding of contract management principles and practices, with experience of managing contracts with external providers.
  • Service Delivery: Excellent knowledge of repairs and maintenance services, with experience of delivering services to a high standard.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
