Wholesale Payments Specialist

The Clearing & Payments department plays a vital role in supporting Bank of China's operational processing for various banking products. We work closely with retail branches, front-office teams, and global partners to ensure seamless service for our customers.

As a Wholesale Payments Specialist, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of wholesale customer transactions. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing Wholesale Customer Payments: Accurately and efficiently process various types of wholesale payments, ensuring timely and secure completion.
  • Investigating and Resolving Payment Issues: Investigate and resolve operational processing issues, payment queries, and returns of inapplicable funds. Escalate complex cases as needed.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain clear communication with relevant Bank of China departments, global branches, and external financial institutions to effectively address payment inquiries.
  • System Management: Oversee all GUPP Payment System queues within the Bank of China London Branch, ensuring smooth system operation.
  • Process Improvement: Assist with testing and implementing new systems and upgrades. Regularly review existing procedures and suggest improvements for enhanced efficiency.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Capture statistical information for reporting purposes. Prepare weekly and monthly reports to track key performance indicators.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field preferred.
  • Strong academic background with a minimum of three A-levels or equivalent, including GCSEs in Mathematics and English.
  • Prior experience in Swift and Payment Processing or banking operations is highly desirable.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
