Position Overview
We are seeking applications for the role of Surgical Trust Associate (ST3+) specializing in General Surgery, particularly focusing on Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal Surgery.

Role Specifics
The Upper GI unit addresses a variety of elective and emergency benign conditions, utilizing advanced laparoscopic techniques, including bile duct exploration and anti-reflux surgery. The Lower GI unit manages both elective and emergency conditions related to benign and malignant diseases, emphasizing enhanced recovery and laparoscopic interventions.
Our department provides a daily handover service for colorectal conditions, ensuring timely management of obstructing cancers. We collaborate closely with Gastroenterologists to manage inflammatory bowel disease through a weekly multidisciplinary team meeting.
Recognized as a center of excellence for complex incisional hernias and chronic post-operative pain, our department includes Deanery Registrars, Fellows, Core Trainees, and F1 Doctors, all benefiting from extensive teaching and training opportunities.
Work Environment
This position is based within a unique organization that integrates acute and community services, offering a full range of secondary care services, including emergency care and cancer services.

Work Schedule
This role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, including some weekends and nights.
