About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Level 2 Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team at an inclusive SEN/SEMH school in Preston. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of primary-aged children with diverse learning needs, including ASC and MLD.

Your Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs, assisting them in their academic and personal growth.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff members to implement lesson plans and create a positive learning environment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Support students' social, emotional, and mental well-being through positive interactions and guidance.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- NVQ Level 2 or above qualification – appropriate for the role advertised or equivalent
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
- Recent experience of working with children in KS1 or KS2
- Knowledge of classroom roles and responsibilities
- Recent experience of supporting and assisting pupils with their learning
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- First Aid Certificate
- Team Teach Certificate
- Experience of administrative tasks
- Experience of working with children with SEND
- Experience of supporting children with challenging behaviour
