About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in Preston. As a SEN and SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and emotional and social mental health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN and SEMH, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with challenging behavior, utilizing de-escalation techniques to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and tailored approach to supporting students with SEN and SEMH.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and behavior.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students with SEN and SEMH, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students and the school.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance and a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
