Job Overview
Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to provide support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a Primary school setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with students aged 4-11 years old with SEMH needs, providing individualized support and strategies to manage challenging behaviors.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and support staff to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans.
- Provide training and support to teachers and support staff on strategies for managing challenging behaviors and promoting positive relationships.
- Contribute to the development of a whole-school approach to supporting students with SEMH needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with students with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Strong knowledge of strategies for managing challenging behaviors and promoting positive relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing high-quality support to students and staff.
