Distribution System Operation (DSO) focuses on creating a smarter and more flexible energy framework for our clients, ensuring a greener grid with optimal resilience at minimal costs.

This position presents an exciting opportunity during a transformative period in the energy sector. As an Analyst reporting to the Head of System Flexibility, you will join the System Flexibility team, tasked with delivering customer and network flexibility solutions to enhance the efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating across departments to gather essential information
  • Generating reports and data for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparing documentation (including presentations and written materials) in collaboration with team members
  • Maintaining effective communication and relationships with key internal and external partners
  • Assisting the broader team with administrative tasks to meet monthly deadlines and enhance departmental performance
  • Contributing to industry-wide market development by representing Northern Powergrid in relevant working groups

Qualifications and Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in a relevant field
  • Two A Levels or NVQ Level 4 or HNC
  • Experience in IT and analytics
  • Preferably some background in the energy sector (not mandatory)
  • Proficiency in relevant IT applications (including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
