Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced strategic leader to take on the role of Chief Nursing Officer. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional clinical care and possess the ability to navigate a complex and dynamic healthcare environment.

The Chief Nursing Officer will be instrumental in articulating a clear vision for nursing services, demonstrating outstanding interpersonal and influencing capabilities, and fostering effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

In this role, the Chief Nursing Officer will also serve as a Deputy Group Chief Nurse, collaborating across various organizational and professional services to achieve the Group's objectives and shared goals.

As a vital member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Chief Nursing Officer will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and the Hospital Medical Director, reinforcing our commitment to placing clinical leadership at the forefront of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

The Chief Nursing Officer will provide professional guidance for all nursing and midwifery staff, while spearheading initiatives that enhance clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. By developing a comprehensive Group Nursing and Midwifery Strategy, the Chief Nursing Officer will ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective patient care through a well-educated, motivated, and sustainable workforce.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (1st level registration) with NMC.
  • Advanced professional or management degree at the Master's level.
  • Proven record of continuous professional development.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive senior nurse management experience in a leadership role within the NHS acute sector.
  • Significant experience and proficiency in leading nursing, midwifery, and clinical support teams.
  • Proven track record as a clinical leader at the managerial level, including strategy formulation, budget management, and staff leadership.
