Job Title: Retail Cashier

Location: Bristol, UK

Position Overview: We are looking for a dependable and customer-focused Retail Cashier to become a part of our establishment in Bristol. In this role, you will be tasked with managing financial transactions, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring an efficient checkout experience. Your precision and speed at the register will be crucial in fostering a positive shopping atmosphere for our clientele.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage the checkout system, executing transactions with accuracy and efficiency, including cash, credit, and debit payments.
  • Process customer returns and exchanges in line with company regulations.
  • Welcome customers warmly and assist them with any questions or issues.
  • Keep the checkout area tidy and organized, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Enhance sales by promoting ongoing promotions, special deals, and loyalty programs.
  • Assist in restocking shelves and maintaining store aesthetics as required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet sales targets and uphold high customer service standards.
  • Adhere to all company protocols and procedures, including those related to security and health and safety.
  • Notify store management of any discrepancies or issues with transactions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a cashier or in a comparable position is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities, with a friendly and approachable attitude.
  • Basic mathematical skills and attention to detail for accurate transaction handling.
  • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with operating a cash register and processing various payment types.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • A positive mindset, dependability, and a dedication to providing exceptional customer service.
