About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Justice Support Worker to join our team at the National Children's Residential Organisation. As a Youth Justice Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct support and care to young people aged 16 to 17 years, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding: Collaborate with external agencies and emergency services to ensure the safety and well-being of young people, adhering to local authority safeguarding procedures.
  • Support and Care: Provide individualized support and care to young people, addressing their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Community Outreach: Work closely with local authorities to reduce young people's offending behavior and support them in completing court orders.
  • Trauma-Informed Environment: Ensure a safe and supportive environment within the residential home, promoting a trauma-informed approach to care.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Hold a relevant qualification in Social Work, Probation, Youth Justice, or Youth Work.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with young people at risk of custody.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and team working skills, ability to cope effectively with challenging behavior, and a working knowledge of the barriers and challenges faced by non-white young people within the criminal justice system.

  • Competitive Salary: £27,325 per annum (full-time) or £13,258 pro-rata (part-time).
  • Overtime and Bank Holidays: Paid time and a half.
