Daytime Healthcare Recruitment Limited is seeking a dedicated Youth Justice Support Worker to join their team
Competitive Salary:
- Full Time - £27,325 per annum, equivalent 40 hours per week (including weekends and bank holidays)
- Part Time - £13,258 pro-rata, equivalent 20 hours per week (including weekends and bank holidays)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support and care for young people aged 16 to 17 years, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
Collaborate with external agencies and emergency services to safeguard young people, ensuring compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures.
Work closely with local authorities to reduce young people's offending behaviour and support them in completing their court orders.
Ensure a trauma-informed environment within the home at all times, prioritizing the needs of young people.
Requirements:
Hold a relevant qualification in Social Work, Probation, Youth Justice, or Youth Work, with a strong understanding of the issues facing young people.
At least 1 year of experience working with young people at risk of custody, demonstrating effective coping strategies for challenging behaviour.
Excellent communication and team working skills, with the ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays.
A working knowledge and thorough understanding of the barriers and challenges faced by non-white young people within the criminal justice system.
