About the Role

St Christopher's is a leading charity for children and young people, providing innovative services across the UK and Isle of Man. We are seeking a dedicated Youth Justice Support Worker to join our team in London, working closely with local authorities and the Pathfinder project team to deliver meaningful programs for young people at risk of custody.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safeguard young people through collaborative working with external agencies and emergency services, ensuring compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures.
  • Work closely with local authorities to reduce young people's offending behavior and support them to complete their court orders.
  • Ensure a trauma-informed environment within the home at all times.
Requirements
  • Hold a relevant qualification in Social Work, Probation, youth justice, or Youth Work.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with young people at risk of custody.
  • Understanding of the issues facing young people.
  • Ability to cope effectively with challenging behavior.
  • Good communication and team working skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Working knowledge and thorough understanding of the barriers and challenges that non-white young people face within the criminal justice system.
