About the Role

St Christopher's Fellowship is a leading charity for children and young people, providing innovative services across the UK and Isle of Man. We are seeking a dedicated Youth Justice Support Worker to join our team and contribute to our mission of ensuring every child and young person is safe, loved, and happy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safeguard young people through collaborative working with external agencies and emergency services, ensuring compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures.
  • Work closely with local authorities to reduce young people's offending behavior and support them in completing their court orders.
  • Ensure a trauma-informed environment within the home at all times.
Requirements
  • Hold a relevant qualification in Social Work, Probation, Youth Justice, or Youth Work.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with young people at risk of custody.
  • Understanding of the issues facing young people.
  • Ability to cope effectively with challenging behavior.
  • Good communication and team working skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Working knowledge and thorough understanding of the barriers and challenges that non-white young people face within the criminal justice system.
