Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Receptionist to join our team at North Kensington Medical Centre. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our clinicians and patients.

Main Responsibilities

• Answering telephone calls and redirecting enquiries
• Booking new and follow-up appointments
• Taking messages for doctors, nurses, and other clinicians
• Requesting repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines
• Registering new patients following practice policy
• Opening and distributing mail, leaving private and confidential mail unopened
• Filing medical records and scanning hospital reports and letters
• Offering all services to patients, including Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS), extended hours hub, and walk-in centres as appropriate
• Completing tasks sent by doctors, nurses, and other clinicians
• Sending off patient records to the PCSE
• Marking patient records as arrived on SystmOne
• Maintaining the reception area and ensuring it is tidy and ready for incoming colleagues
• Opening and locking up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols

Person Specification

• Previous medical reception/admin experience
• Previous SystmOne experience (desirable)
