Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic team at Belgrave Medical Centre. As a key member of our practice, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our reception area and providing exceptional patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Process incoming and outgoing telephone calls, responding promptly and courteously to patients and visitors.
  • Manage online consultation forms, ensuring accurate and timely triage by clinicians.
  • Receive and direct patients to the appropriate service or healthcare professional, providing a positive and friendly experience.
  • Provide general assistance to the practice team, maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Work closely with other reception staff to ensure efficient delivery of services and maintain a well-organized reception area.
  • Book appointments, contact patients, and complete patient-related tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Register new patients, process information changes, and manage repeat prescription requests.
  • Be responsible for the opening and closing of the practice, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment.
  • Refer patients via tasks from clinicians, maintaining accurate records and communication.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Experience working in a GP practice or primary care setting.
    • Experience using SystmOne or similar clinical systems.
    • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience as a receptionist or in a similar role.
    • Experience referring patients from clinicians.
