Job Summary:

This is a newly created position within the commercial team at Currys, responsible for maximizing the growth opportunity of SharkNinja's new product development and ensuring the company is at the forefront of innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with SharkNinja to understand their new product development roadmap and develop a go-to-market approach to capitalize on their launches.
  • Support major launches with in-store activations, colleague training, and engagement, as well as above-the-line activity to drive customers to Currys as the number one retailer of choice for their new innovation.
  • Collaborate with the customer insight team to ensure the squad adequately understands the category landscape, including customers, competitors, trends, financial performance, range performance, threats, and opportunities, to support the development of the annual category strategy.
  • Create the blueprint for the annual category strategy, helping define the guidelines for target KPIs (CSAT, share, EBIT, stock), customer shopping journey, category proposition, and the 'go-to-market' plan.
  • Using insight, work with the buyer, planner, services, and credit representatives to define annually the category 'proposition' – the best combination of range, price, availability, services, and credit to maximize customer satisfaction, competitiveness, and financial return.
  • Using insight, work with channel representatives and brand & marketing to define the right shopping journey in all channels, including training and engagement of customer-facing colleagues in the category selling journey.
  • Work with the central planning and brand & marketing function to develop in line with the annual events calendar the 'Go to market' strategy and plan for the category.
  • Support the squad in landing all major initiatives and liaising with relevant supporting departments to deliver right first time.
  • Champion delivering great customer experiences in all channels, challenging both the category team and supporting functions to improve the experience for customers.
  • Bring appropriate analytics and insight from the online and customer team to support decision-making related to day-to-day trading, events, and promotions and range changes to ensure the category is making relevant data-driven decisions and plans.
  • Work with the Senior E-commerce Manager to understand category KPI dashboard and reporting metrics ensuring timely and accurate communication of performance vs targets.
  • Coordinate responses to major marketing briefs across the category in appropriate templates.
  • Be the go-to person from all parts of the business to coordinate the customer experience activities that need to be developed.
  • Work with peer groups to lead cross-functional delivery for all things related to customer journey for your Head of Category.
Requirements:
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to manage several different stakeholders, at all levels.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills to review data and provide recommendations/actions plans to drive sales, profit, and cash.
  • Good planning, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, capable of presenting to team forums as well as working cross-functionally to achieve the desired results.
  • Detail-oriented problem-solving skills.
  • Coordinate teams and train and identify training requirements.
