Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ethical Review Committee Secretary to join our team at the University of Oxford. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Ethical Review Committee, ensuring the smooth operation of the committee's activities and maintaining the highest standards of governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Ethical Review Committee, including preparing meeting agendas, minutes, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines, including the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with committee members, researchers, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and databases related to the committee's activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to researchers on ethical review processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education to degree level or equivalent/relevant experience in a biological research area.
  • Knowledge of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and relevant regulations.
  • Experience of committee work, regulatory processes, or project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
