We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to groundbreaking research at the intersection of ethics and infectious disease.

This exciting opportunity is within the Oxford-Johns Hopkins Global Infectious Disease Ethics Collaborative (GLIDE) and the Pandemic Sciences Institute, two leading institutions dedicated to addressing global health challenges.

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will collaborate with esteemed colleagues at the Berman Institute, actively participating in an exchange program with Johns Hopkins University. Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping ethical frameworks for infectious disease control and pandemic preparedness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct collaborative research on ethical issues related to infectious diseases and pandemics.
  • Develop innovative research project ideas and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in this field.
  • Manage administrative tasks effectively and independently.
  • Explore and implement novel research methodologies.
  • Engage with the public through outreach activities organized by the Ethox Centre.
Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • A PhD/DPhil in bioethics, medical ethics, or a closely related discipline (or be nearing completion).
  • Demonstrated expertise in the field of infectious disease ethics.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • A willingness to participate in an academic visit at the Berman Institute in Baltimore, US.

This is a full-time (part-time considered) fixed-term position for two years.
