Job Description

Parke Lane People is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading the Accounts Team and overseeing the day-to-day financial administration of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a team of Accounts staff to achieve high standards in a complex organization and reporting structure.
  • Financial Planning and Control: Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Financial Operations: Oversee the processing, recording, and reporting of all financial transactions, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making, and prepare financial reports for submission to the Finance Committee.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage the cash flow of the business, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet financial obligations.
  • Investment and Endowment Management: Ensure all investment transactions are correctly recorded, and the total return drawdown process is applied.
  • Financial Compliance: Maintain detailed records and reporting for specific endowment funds, restricted funds, and designated funds, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Annual Audit and Reporting: Manage the Annual Audit process, prepare the Annual Statutory Accounts, and work with colleagues to prepare the Annual Report.
  • Charity Commission and VAT: Prepare and submit the Charity Commission annual return, manage VAT processes, and review and submit VAT returns.
  • Debt Follow-up and Compliance: Manage the College's processes for debt follow-up and chasing, and ensure compliance with Data Protection Policies.
  • Company Secretary: Act as Company Secretary to any subsidiary companies of the establishment or Charities associated with the business.
Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 3 years' experience at a similar level or in a similar role, out of practice.
  • Qualifications: Hold a full accounting qualification with membership of a professional body.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to deal professionally and sensitively with a broad range of people, and strong IT skills, proficient in using Excel, Word, databases, and accounting systems.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
