Job Title: Residential Deputy Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000

Location: Leeds - Various

Job Summary

Reed is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of a safe and stimulating environment for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Take an active role in the lives of children and young people, providing good quality care and encouraging positive interaction.
  • Service Delivery: Support the Registered Manager in delivering a high-quality service that meets the emotional and developmental needs of children and young people.
  • Operational Management: Lead the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring a safe environment in line with Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Staff Management: Organise, deploy, and manage staff, maintaining flexible work patterns and rotas to meet service needs.
  • Health and Safety: Manage the physical environment of the home, ensuring health and safety standards are upheld.
  • Care Planning and Risk Management: Oversee care planning and risk management, ensuring individual care plans are developed, delivered, and evaluated.
  • Data Management: Maintain data and information systems, preparing and presenting reports as required.
  • Professional Development: Participate in appraisal, training, and development activities to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: NVQ Diploma Level 3 in Residential Child Care and the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or commitment to achieve Level 5 within 2 years of starting).
  • Experience: At least 2 years' relevant experience in residential care within the last 5 years.
  • Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop staff. In-depth knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and associated quality standards. Experience in care planning, risk management, and case management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and maintaining accurate records in accordance with GDPR.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information.
