About the Role

Polaris Community is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to young people in our residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage and Motivate Young People: Develop positive relationships with young people, encouraging them to reach their full potential and achieve their goals.
  • Provide Practical Support: Offer guidance and support to young people in line with their individual care plans, helping them to develop essential life skills and independence.
  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure the home environment is safe, welcoming, and healthy for young people, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Build Positive Relationships: Foster strong relationships with young people, staff, and professionals, communicating effectively and providing support as needed.
Requirements
  • Flexibility and Availability: Be available to work a variety of shifts, including sleep-ins, evenings, and weekends, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Qualifications and Experience: Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent, with experience working with young people in care and attachment and trauma.
  • Computer Skills: Possess intermediate-level computer skills and be comfortable using technology to support daily tasks.
