Job Summary:

LTF Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN teaching assistant to join our team in a three-form entry primary school in Northfield, Birmingham. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with SEN in a reception class setting, working 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation, ensuring a smooth and engaging learning experience for students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students with SEN.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN support.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in an early years environment, preferably in a reception or nursery setting.
  • Experience supporting 1:1 and small groups, with a focus on SEN.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and its application in a reception class setting.
  • TA qualifications or a relevant degree.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
